Adidas (formerly Dassler Schuhfabrik) is a German firm founded in 1949 by Adolf Dassler, specializing in the manufacturing of sporting goods, based in Herzogenaurach in Germany.

It is known worldwide as "the three stripes brand", because of the three parallel stripes which constitute its logo. A pioneer, leader for many years in articles intended for athletes and also the main competitor of Nike, the current world leader in the sector, Adidas is one of the best-known sports equipment manufacturers in the world.
